  • One of my favourite topics - functional fitness!

    Well I think I got a bit excited last month with my "how amazing is East Lothian in the sunshine" rant as we've had more wet and windy days than sunny days BUT it was an amazing Easter weekend and today has been quite nice so fingers crossed our Vitamin D levels will get topped up again!

    It's time to go back to one of my favourite topics - functional fitness. For me it means finding a job to do rather than doing a workout or going for a run - a job with purpose. It also generally fits in with my philosophy of if I can do it myself then I will.

    SO today it involves digging out some tree trunks that have been hanging out in our lovely Cockenzie garden for about a year now since we got rid of the gigantic hedges! I bought an axe last night to aid me as the hand saw just wasn't cutting it and I now have a wheelbarrow full of trunks - yay!

    I still have 2 left to go at the front part of the garden and the area behind the shed is a whole other workout.... oh and there is cutting the grass, trimming the hedge, building some raised beds, laying some decking..... eeeek I better get on with it!
